World of Concrete 2023 Conference
T.W. Hicks was honored to attend the 49th annual World of Concrete Conference held at the Las Vegas Convention Center. This conference is the world’s largest trade show fostering the growing concrete and masonry construction industries. World of Concrete is the industry’s only annual international event dedicated to the commercial concrete and masonry construction industries.
Conference Details
The industry’s leading suppliers were able to showcase innovative products and technologies using indoor and outdoor exhibits, exciting demonstrations and competitions, and a world-class education program. With 48,009 registered professionals and industrial flooring contractors in attendance, heavy foot traffic on the show floor, and over 120 countries in attendance, the World of Concrete further solidified itself as the critical meeting place for industry advancement. The conference used more than 587,000 net square footage (NSF) of the convention center, with both indoor and outdoor spaces full of product displays, demonstrations, and competitions.
Tips for Attending
T.W. Hicks learned some valuable lessons over the course of the conference and the team was able to leave with key takeaways and tips for the future. Many of the events attended did not take place at the conference or tradeshow, which is good to know for the logistics of the next conference. Scheduling days in advance and allowing for more flexibility in the schedule are helpful. Las Vegas is large and crowded, meaning it will take much longer to navigate than one would think. Getting in and out of the tradeshow can be difficult. Prepare for long lines at check-in on the first day. Set meetings with the most important contacts in advance. Take advantage of what Las Vegas has to offer by planning breakfasts, lunches, dinners, and happy hours with your must-see contacts.
Networking
Outside of the conference and tradeshow, T.W. Hicks enjoyed spending time networking with the best commercial flooring contractors around the world and enjoying the fun city of Las Vegas. The team attended Verdia Suite Happy Hour at the Aria Hotel and Casino, Tnemec TopGolf Party, breakfast with Sherwin Williams, Sika Party at Marquee Nightclub inside the Cosmopolitan Hotel and Casino, Sherwin Williams Happy Hour at AmeriCAN Beer and Cocktails, and Cirque du Soleil “O” with MAXXON. As you can see, T.W. Hicks made the most of their time and greatly enjoyed everything the World of Concrete 2023 conference had to offer. The team is looking forward to attending again in the future!
