Project Highlight: JONDO Opens Beautiful New Facility in DFW

Last year, our team at T.W. Hicks had the privilege of working with JONDO on a brand-new printing facility in Dallas, Texas. JONDO is a global print-on-demand company, and they wanted to bring their operations to North Texas in order to better serve customers around the country – and ultimately around the world. This is JONDO’s 4th facility in the United States, with other locations in New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.

Evaluating the Need

As we learned more about the project, we knew this facility was going to be huge! With over 35,000 square feet in the Dallas manufacturing facility, we knew we would need to find floors that were durable – yet cost-effective. JONDO also prides itself on state-of-the-art, technologically advanced equipment, and we wanted to make sure the flooring used reflected the overall aesthetic and commitment to innovation JONDO is known for.  

Selecting a Flooring

Throughout the facility, our team needed to install floors that would work for the manufacturing areas, as well as the custom wood shop, breakrooms, and lunchrooms. In the end, an 800 Grit Polish Concrete System was selected as the perfect choice for this new facility. Why?

·      Durability: This flooring is extremely durable, able to withstand the weight of heavy printing equipment throughout the facility without scratching or pitting, as you would expect with the best commercial flooring solutions in DFW.

·      Easy to Maintain: Polished concrete doesn’t need the regular waxing of other flooring types. It’s extremely easy to clean and that was key in a facility this large!

·      Reflective: The polished concrete actually enhances the lighting and brightness of the facility, and when you are manufacturing, lighting is critical. Not only that, but the bright reflective properties look professional.

·      Long Lasting: Due to the durability of the flooring, polished concrete can last for years. And even after years of use, if the need for refinishing presents itself, the process is inexpensive and straightforward. 

·      Cost-Effective: When covering such a large facility, cost definitely comes into play. Our polished concrete system was an excellent choice because it combines durability and aesthetics, in one highly cost-effective package.
